Hesperia, CA (April 28, 2024) A pedestrian was walking along Peach Avenue on Saturday evening when they were struck by a vehicle. The accident took place just after 7:00 p.m. between Manzanita Street and Sycamore Street in Hesperia. The collision left the pedestrian with serious injuries, according to reports.
Initial reports indicated that a white Volkswagen SUV was traveling along Peach Avenue why the vehicle struck a pedestrian. The impact was strong enough to dent the vehicle’s hood and damage the driver’s side headlight. The pedestrian was thrown several feet, where they landed on the ground with serious injuries.
The San Bernardino County Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground. Paramedics rushed to give aid to the injured victim who had serious injuries. The pedestrian was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to Desert Valley Hospital, where they were then taken by helicopter to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to receive emergency treatment.
The driver of f the Volkswagen remained at he scene and waited for authorities. They stood beside their dented and damaged vehicles as officers questioned them about the accident. Officers had to close an area of Peach Avenue as they investigated the scene and tried to determine what exactly happened and who was at fault.
