It was a Saturday evening in October as a pedestrian headed through Modesto on foot. They approached the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Paradise Road as a vehicle drove through the intersection. The vehicle struck the pedestrian, knocking them to the ground. Instead of stopping, the driver hit the gas and fled the scene, officers reported.
The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the pedestrian on the ground with injuries. They requested an ambulance and paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
