Huntington Beach, CA (February 22, 2024) 67-year-old Johnny Lee Davis lost his life on Wednesday night while trying to cross a street in Huntington Beach. The Stockton resident started crossing the street at 10:00 p.m. and never made it to the other side. As he crossed, Davis was struck and killed by a vehicle on Beach Boulevard.

It was dark in Huntington Beach and drivers relied on headlights and street lights to guide the way through the city streets. Pedestrian, Johnny Lee Davis, was walking when he decided to cross Beach Boulevard at the intersection of Williams Drive. At the same time, a 33-year-old driver was heading south on Beach Boulevard in a 2021 Tesla Model Y. Before anyone knew what was happening, the Tesla hit Davis as he crossed the street.

Emergency crews hurried to the intersection where they found Davis lying on the road. Paramedics rushed to his side and performed life-saving measures but even their best efforts weren’t enough to save him. With heavy hearts, Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Tesla remained at the scene and was cooperative with police officers during their investigation. Investigators are working to determine what caused this deadly accident on Beach Boulevard on Wednesday night. They have asked that anyone with information regarding this accident call the investigators at 714-536-5231.
