Glenn County, CA (October 28, 2024) Sadness and shock swept through the community of Glenn County on Saturday night as residents learned of a 5-year-old’s death. A one-year-old and a two-year-old were also injured in the crash. It happened around 6:00 p.m. on County Road M, not too far from County Road 27, according to reports. The driver, 24-year-old Savannah Dees, was arrested for DUI following the collision.

24-year-old Savannah Dees from Olivehurst was behind the wheel of a 2009 Ford with three, young children in the vehicle with her. She drove south on County Road M, well above the speed limit, according to reports. Dees tried to turn the Ford west, but she lost control. The vehicle went off the road and over the edge, taking out a power pole. It then rolled several times before coming to a stop on the shoulder of the roadway.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the vehicle smashed on every single surface. Glass and debris were everywhere as they rushed to see if anyone needed medical attention. Tragically, they found a 5-year-old inside the Ford who had been killed in the collision. Two other children, ages 1 and 2, inside the vehicle both sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were both taken to a hospital to receive further treatment.
