Santa Ana, CA (October 18, 2023) – A 12 year-old girl was critically injured on Wednesday, October 18th, in a pedestrian hit-and-run on Newhope Street in Santa Ana. the accident occurred around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection with McFadden Avenue.
The girl was a student at nearby Fitz Intermediate Language Academy. She was walking to school when she was tragically struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene and did not stop to help the injured student.
Fortunately the accident was quickly reported by bystanders and paramedics were dispatched to the scene. The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. According to the most recent reports on her condition, she was admitted for surgery to help repair her severe injuries.

Police were able to review footage from a nearby Ring doorbell and have a description of the suspect’s car. It is a blue, newer model, Honda sedan with black tinted windows.
