Hayward, CA (November 20, 2023) – A pedestrian was sadly pronounced dead on Sunday, November 19th, after being struck in a tragic hit-and-run on Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward, California. The accident took place at the intersection with Bockman Road, with best estimates placing it at around 8:53 a.m.
The victim was likely crossing the road at the intersection when a black Ford vehicle struck the pedestrian. It is unknown who had the right of way when the accident occurred, but the driver of the Ford fled scene of the accident without stopping to assist the pedestrian or call for help.

Nearby witnesses called 911 and reported the incident. Police and paramedics were quickly dispatched to the scene to assist the pedestrian. Sadly, when they arrived the victim had already passed away from his injuries.
