Malibu, CA (February 14, 2024) A stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu was the backdrop for what authorities are calling a violent collision. It was a sunny afternoon in Malibu as vehicles headed down the Pacific Coast Highway on February 13th. Without warning, two vehicles collided in the 34300 block of the Pacific Coast Highway, killing one and leaving another in critical condition, authorities said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department could see the black smoke coming from the vehicles in the distance as they rushed to the scene. They arrived to find two vehicles that were completely destroyed. SKYCal later released images of a white Range Rover that had been completely burned, its body charred and black. A second vehicle was also on fire, its hood was ripped open and pieces of the vehicle littered the highway.

Another person was killed in the collision, according to authorities. Sadly, they were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

Police officers at the scene gathered evidence and are working diligently to figure out what caused this violent and deadly crash on the Pacific Coast Highway.
