Los Olivos, CA (July 10, 2024) A two-vehicle collision involving a truck hauling a cattle trailer in Los Olivos on Monday, July 8th, left five people with injuries. Three of the five sustained serious injuries, officers reported. The crash occurred on Highway 154, at the intersection of Foxen Canyon Road, just before 11:00 a.m., according to reports.

A truck pulling a cattle trailer was driving along Highway 154 on Monday morning, July 8th, at approximately 10:52 a.m. For reasons that are still unknown, the truck collided with a pickup at the intersection of Foxen Canyon Road in Los Olivos.

The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive at the scene following the 911 call. They quickly checked the vehicles to see if anyone needed emergency medical care. In all, they found five people with injuries. Three of the injured people sustained major injuries in the accident. Paramedics arrived at the scene and requested a medical helicopter for two patients. They were flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital to receive emergency treatment. The third person with major injuries was transported to Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital, via ambulance, according to reports.

Officers gathered as much evidence as they could find and took statements from those at the scene. They are working to determine not only what caused this two-vehicle accident on Highway 154, but also who was at fault. Tow trucks arrived at the scene to remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the highway and crews worked as quickly and thoroughly as they could to remove the debris from the roadway.
