HELENDALE, CA (NOVEMBER 25, 2023): 18-year-old Haley C Carper has been identified as the driver who was tragically killed after being struck by a semi-truck in the Helendale neighborhood earlier this week.
According to reports from local authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, November 20th on Highway 395. Reports indicate the Carper was driving her gray Honda on the 38000 block of the Highway, just south of Kramer Junction when it collided with a semi-truck at about 8:18 p.m. Carper’s sedan was overturned from the impact of the crash, trapping her inside.

Emergency personnel arrived on the scene shortly after, and attempted to rescue and administer first-aid to Carper. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Highway 395 was closed on both directions.
