Las Vegas, NV (July 29, 2024) A deadly collision occurred on Lake Mead Boulevard in the Las Vegas Valley on Sunday afternoon, July 28th, officers reported. It occurred over the U.S. Highway 95 overpass right around 1:30 p.m., reports indicated. Not only did the accident cause serious traffic issues, but it claimed one life and left another injured.
For reasons that remain unknown, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on Lake Mead Boulevard, above the US 95 overpass, on Sunday afternoon, July 28th. The collision sent glass and debris flying all over the roadway and the damaged vehicles blocked the path for other drivers, according to reports.
The Nevada State Police arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles all over the roadway. They began checking for anyone who might need medical aid and found one person with life-threatening injuries. They began life-saving measures as they waited for paramedics to arrive at the scene. Sadly, the victim’s injuries proved to be too severe and they were pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was found with non-life-threatening injuries, reports indicated. They were loaded into an ambulance and transported to a nearby hospital to receive further medical attention.

Officers reported that the roadway was closed from Rock Springs Drive to Rainbow Boulevard. The ramps to U.S. 95 were also closed, reports indicated. The closure continued for several hours, causing traffic delays in the area. Officers gathered evidence and took statements from witnesses at the scene. They are working as quickly and thoroughly as they can to determine what caused this deadly crash in Las Vegas. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault for this vehicular accident.
