Los Angeles, CA (December 27, 2023) 21-year-old Evelyn Ortega Solis was killed in a 7-vehicle Collision on Tuesday, December 26th, authorities said. The Accident occurred just after midnight near E. Olympic Boulevard and S. Vancouver Avenue.
Officers are not entirely sure what caused this fatal crash, but Officer William O’Hair with the California Highway Patrol Public Information Department said they believe speed was a factor. He said, “If you look at the damage on the vehicles, one of the vehicles is almost undistinguishable, so I’m sure speed was a factor.”

Video footage of the accident showed vehicles on top of each other and most were severely damaged, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers said it’s too soon to determine if one of the drivers involved ran a red light, but their investigation should reveal everything.
A total of seven cars were involved in this awful collision. Two of the vehicles, according to investigators, were parked along the street when they were hit. The passenger in the vehicle that is believed to have caused the crash was killed in the accident. Paramedics rushed to give aid, but sadly, Evelyn Ortega Solis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officers arrested the driver of the vehicle in which Solis had been riding. The charges against him have not been released, nor has his identity. Officers said that this fatal collision remains under investigation.
