Madera, CA (August 10, 2023) A collision on Highway 99 Thursday morning left 1 person injured and left traffic stalled for a while. The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near Avenue 12.
The accident happened in the southbound lanes of Highway 99. Authorities who were at the scene said they arrived to find the driver of a box truck pinned in. Crews worked to free the driver, who was then airlifted via SkyLife Air Ambulance to a local hospital for injuries.

A flat-bed tow truck was called to retrieve the wrecked vehicle and crews cleaned up the accident site, allowing traffic to continue without backing up.
