Police officers reported that the accident took place around 2:30 p.m. on Mariposa Road, north of Monarch Boulevard. The tragic accident happened on a trail that the family had used many times before. Chula Vista, CA (December 1, 2023) 39-year-old Hinga Benson lost his life on Interstate 5 in Chula Vista on Monday, November 27th, when he was hit by a vehicle. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened around 10:30 p.m., just north of Palomar Street. Kern County, CA (November 30, 2023) 27-year-old Leah Makiah Ida Phillips tragically lost her life on Wednesday, November 29th, when she was struck by a vehicle in Kern County. The fatal collision happened on California City Boulevard, not far from Deep Well Street, just before 6:30 p.m., authorities said. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found Phillips lying on the shoulder of the eastbound side of the roadway. Concord, CA (November 30, 2023) 86-year-old Thomas O’Connell of Concord tragically lost his life and his wife of 60 years, Marilyn O’Connell, 82, was injured in a DUI crash in Concord. The Concord Police Department said the accident occurred because of Damien Lopez-Avelino, age 19, also of Concord, who was driving while under the influence. Mendocino County, CA (November 29, 2023) 37-year-old Erica Gonzalez was killed in a car accident on State Route 253 in Mendocino County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
