Authorities said the accident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on N. Loop 1604. Vogtlin was riding a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle, heading east, on N. Loop 1604. Philadelphia, TN (December 18, 2023) 36-year-old Miguel Angel Lopez Zavala was killed in a crash with a train in Philadelphia, Tennessee, according to authorities. The accident occurred on Thursday, December 14th, on Highway 11, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported. Lopez Zavala was driving east on Highway 11 in a 2001 Ford Taurus when he failed to yield and was hit by a Norfold Southern Train. Paramount, CA (December 18, 2023) A rollover crash in Paramount left 25-year-old Jose Contreras deceased on Sunday, December 17th. The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident occurred on the Long Beach (710) Freeway around 5:15 a.m. The fatal collision took place on the southbound freeway, just east of Alondra Boulevard, according to officers. Chico, CA (December 18, 2023) A wrong-way crash on Highway 99 in Chico left one person dead on Saturday night, according to authorities. 26-year-old Shelby Alvarez was arrested for DUI following the crash. It happened just north of Highway 32 right around 11:00 p.m. Officers reported that Alvarez was driving the wrong way, heading south in northbound lanes, on Highway 99. A corvette was traveling north on the highway and the two vehicles collided, head-on. Dallas, TX (December 18, 2023) Nestor Lujan Flores was arrested after hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene in the White Settlement area of Dallas, authorities said. Officers with the Dallas Police Department responded to the call a few minutes after 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16th. This story begins with the driver of the vehicle, Flores, hitting a pedestrian and saying he hit an animal. Malibu, CA (December 18, 2023) Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy, Castaneda, and his K9 partner were injured when a DUI driver hit them in Malibu. The collision occurred on Saturday, December 16th at approximately 8:40 p.m., according to authorities. Reports indicate that the deputy and his K9 partner were heading toward Neptune’s Net in Malibu on a call about a suspicious person in a parking lot. Los Angeles, CA (December 18, 2023) Carlos Pech, only 15 years old, was struck and killed by a vehicle in the Sun Valley area of Los Angeles on Saturday, December 16th. Officers said the accident happened just after 11:00 p.m. at Strathern Street, which is just east of Craner Avenue. A Cadillac Escalade, driven by 22-year-old Joseph Delgado of North Hills, lost control and slammed into a parked car. Carlsbad, CA (December 17, 2023) 19-year-old Makayla Balderrama and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Juan Baro, were both injured in a wrong-way collision in Carlsbad. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 5 South, authorities said. Baro was driving and as they approached Cannon Road, a truck appeared in front of them, going the wrong way. It struck their vehicle, head-on, according to the California Highway Patrol. Following the collision, Baro was able to get out of the vehicle. Redding, CA (December 17, 2023) Redding resident, Visente Rivera, 29, crashed through Vitality Bowls in Redding on Saturday, authorities said. The collision occurred in the 1400 block of Hilltop Drive at approximately 12:50 a.m. The Redding Police Department arrived at the scene to find that a vehicle had crashed into a local Redding business, Vitality Bowls. Franklin, TN (December 17, 2023) A bicyclist was killed in Franklin, Tennessee, near Mack Hatcher and Liberty Pike. Officers arrested 23-year-old Hidalgo Orozco Denilson from the state of Washington, for DUI, among other charges. Officers with the Franklin Police Department received the call about a bicyclist versus vehicle accident. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and paramedics rushed to the cyclist’s side to give medical aid. Sadly, the cyclist was killed in the collision and pronounced dead at the scene.
