Just before 5:00 a.m., a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the freeway in Temecula, tragically claiming one person’s life. Leimert Park, Los Angeles, CA (March 1, 2024) The neighborhood of Leimert Park was rattled on Thursday night following the death of Gail Regina McNeil, 65, by a hit-and-run driver. The collision occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m., at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard and Homeland Drive. According to reports, the driver hit the pedestrian and then drove away without stopping. It was dark in Leimert Park as McNeil headed down the street on foot. Westminster, CA (March 1, 2024) A woman tragically lost her life while riding an electric bicycle in Westminster on Thursday evening, February 29th. The fatal accident took place at the intersection of Bolsa Avenue and Brookhurst Street, right around 5:40 p.m, officers reported. The woman, said to be in her 60’s, was hit by a vehicle while riding her electric bicycle through Westminster. The Westminster Police Department hurried to the scene and found the woman lying in the middle of the intersection, according to Sgt. Alan Aoki. Valle Vista, CA (February 29, 2024) A traumatic accident occurred on Highway 74 in Valle Vista on Monday when a pedestrian was hit by multiple vehicles. 27-year-0ld Elder Oswaldo Mazariegos Lopez, a resident of Hemet, was killed after being run over by multiple vehicles, officers said. Officer Jonathan Torres said that the drivers either didn’t realize they hit Lopez or they did realize it and chose to flee the scene. Fresno, CA (February 29, 2024) 33-year-old Paul Sanchez was riding his bicycle along Clinton Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle didn’t stop, but continued driving until they could no longer be seen. Sanchez was left alone with life-threatening injuries, officers said. Santa Cruz County, CA (February 29, 2024) A bicycle ride turned violent for four people on Tuesday, February 27th, near Felton. Four bicyclists were riding along the shoulder of Highway 9 in Santa Cruz County, when they were hit by a vehicle. Van Nuys, CA (February 29, 2024) A violent accident claimed the life of a motorcyclist and seriously injured another in Van Nuys on Wednesday evening. The Los Angeles Fire Department reported that the accident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Woodley Avenue. The two people on the motorcycle were hit by an SUV, according to initial reports. Yuba County, CA (February 28, 2024) Sadness swept through the community of Yuba County on Monday as news spread that a coach was killed in a hit-and-run accident. 34-year-old Shane Bunn, a Marysville resident, was killed in a multi-vehicle collision by a suspected DUI driver, officers said.
