The man was struck by not one, but two vehicles that both fled the scene, according to officers. Rancho Cucamonga, CA (March 13, 2024) 67-year-old Robert Goodlander was struck and killed on Saturday night, March 9th, while walking in Rancho Cucamonga. He was struck just after 9:30 p.m. on Baseline Road, near Archibald Avenue, officers reported. Darkness had already fallen as Goodlander walked along Baseline Road under the glow of streetlights. As he walked, a vehicle approached him and suddenly struck him in the 9600 block of Baseline Road. In a sad turn of events, the bicyclist, identified as Jay Groth, 62, from Indio, survived the accident only to succumb to his injuries later at the hospital, authorities said. Beaumont, CA (March 13, 2024) A 4-vehicle collision on Highway 79 in Beaumont left one man with serious injuries, officers said. It all happened around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12th, not far from the Lamb Canyon Landfill, south of Lamb Canyon Road.
