Wilmington, CA (April 12, 2024) Tragedy struck the community of Wilmington on Thursday night, April 11th, when a 28-year-old bicyclist, Junior Valle, was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver. The collision happened at approximately 8:45 p.m. at the intersection of West G Street and Wilmington Boulevard, officers said. South Los Angeles, CA (April 12, 2024) 22-year-old Maria Jarmaillo-Silva lost her life on Thursday night, April 11th, in a suspected hit-and-run collision on South Figueroa Street in South L.A. The fatal accident took place in the Vermont Square neighborhood right around 9:30 p.m. Two people, including a 5-year-old boy, were rushed to the hospital following this two-vehicle crash. Gaviota, CA (April 11, 2024) Four people were injured in a two-vehicle collision caused by a DUI driver, early Thursday morning, April 11th. It was just after 1:00 a.m. when the vehicles collided on Highway 101 near the community of Gaviota, in Santa Barbara County. It was the middle of the night, causing Highway 101 to be quieter than usual. Near Gaviota, about a mile and a half south of Mariposa Reina, two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 101. A 35-year-old San Diego resident, Derek Grover II, was struck and killed by a DUI driver while riding his motorcycle on Saturday evening. Valley Center, CA (April 11, 2024) 27-year-old Manuel Alberto Leon Camacho was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Valley Center on Wednesday morning, April 10th. Santa Ana, CA (April 10, 2024) A tragic accident claimed the life of 44-year-old motorcyclist Flor Mecan Granados on Tuesday night in Santa Ana. It all happened around 11:00 p.m. on Bristol Street at the intersection of Central Avenue, when a vehicle collided with the motorcycle, according to police officers. Modesto, CA (April 10, 2024) Sadness blanketed the town of Modesto on Tuesday evening following the loss of four lives in a crash. 1-year-old Clara Howells and her grandmother, 60-year-old Patricia Marie Lopez, both from Turlock were both killed in this accident. 22-year-old Francis Joe Catano and 19-year-old Angeles Lisset Escoto, were also killed in this four-vehicle collision on McHenry Avenue.
