Las Vegas, NV (September 3, 2024) A fatal collision occurred in downtown Las Vegas on Monday morning, September 2nd, 2024. It happened at the intersection of Searles Avenue and Eastern Avenue, right around 1:00 a.m., according to reports. The crash claimed one person’s life and left two others injured. Officers reported that one driver was also arrested following this deadly, three-vehicle collision.
Initial reports indicated that an SUV was headed west on Searles Avenue on Monday morning, when it attempted to turn onto Eastern Avenue. As it turned, it was hit by two trucks, both headed south on Eastern Avenue. The impact caused serious damage to all three vehicles, which remained disabled in the middle of the roadway.
The Las Vegas Metro Police Department quickly arrived at the scene. It was early in the morning, just after 1:00 a.m., as they began checking for anyone with injuries. The drivers of all three vehicles had been injured in the accident, reports indicated. Paramedics took all three to a local hospital to receive treatment. The driver of the SUV passed away later that afternoon and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers reported that the accident remains under investigation, however it was also reported that one person was placed under arrest. Details on this have not been disclosed but investigators are working to better understand what transpired at that Las Vegas intersection.
