Victorville, CA (August 21, 2024) Family and friends are mourning the loss of Adelanto resident, Gricelda Ponce Sandoval. The Certified Nursing Assistant was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Victorville on the morning of August 15, 2024. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured in the collision, which occurred on Ridgecrest Road, not too far from Green Tree Boulevard.
The world was still waking up at 6:45 a.m. in Victorville as Sandoval drove along Ridgecrest Road on Thursday, August 15th. She was driving a white Toyota Camry as a white GMC Yukon approached her. For reasons that remain unknown, Sandoval’s vehicle collided with the GMC near Green Tree Boulevard. The two vehicles sustained major damage in the collision and glass and debris were thrown in every direction, reports indicated. The two vehicles came to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
Officers and paramedics made their way to the scene and found the two damaged vehicles on Ridgecrest Road. They hurried to begin administering life-saving treatment to anyone in need. Unfortunately, they found Sandoval unresponsive and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC, identified as a 52-year-old from Victorville, was also injured in the collision. Paramedics transported them to a nearby hospital to receive emergency treatment.

Sandoval’s family has created a GoFundMe account to assist the family with funeral costs following this horrible tragedy. Her family and friends affectionately called her “Gris” and she leaves behind three children, aged 17, 19 and 23, according to reports.
