Sacramento, CA (July 23, 2024) A two-vehicle collision occurred on Highway 51 in Sacramento on Monday, July 22nd. The early morning crash left one person with injuries, reports indicated. It all transpired near the E Street on-ramp right around 6:45 a.m.

Early morning traffic was picking up on Monday, July 22nd, as more and more commuters began heading to destinations. On this particular morning, for reasons that remain unknown, two vehicles collided on Highway 51. The accident blocked lanes of the highway, causing traffic delays, and left debris littered all over the roadway, according to reports.

911 calls began coming in from commuters who witnessed the accident. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the highway. Traffic had began to back up and officers hurried to see if anyone was in need of medical care. They found one person with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.

Officers gathered evidence and took statements from people at the scene in an attempt to learn what had happened on Highway 51 in Sacramento that morning. Two trucks were called to remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the scene following the initial investigation. Before traffic could resume along the highway, crews worked as quickly as they could remove the debris from the highway. Officers are working to determine not only what caused this accident on Highway 51, but also who was at fault.
