STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (NOVEMBER 18, 2023): One person was injured in an unfortunate a train accident at a crossing in Stanislaus County on Friday.
According to the Modesto Police Department, the incident happened early on Friday, November 17th, at around 3:30 a.m. Authorities received reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a train in the area of Sant Fe Avenue and Yosemite Boulevard. Modesto police arrived shortly after, discovering signs of a serious accident at the intersection.

Emergency personnel including paramedics also arrived on the scene, and rendered first aid to one person who was occupying the vehicle struck by the train. Their exact injuries were not reported.
Other people were occupying the vehicle at the time of the collision, but reportedly left the area and consequently were not treated for any injuries.
Fire crew that arrived on scene report that the vehicle attempted to beat the train as it passed through the intersection, but was unsuccessful. It is unclear if the victim was operating the vehicle or a passenger.
Thankfully, the victim is reported to have non life-threatening complications.
