Oakland, CA (October 27, 2023) – 42 year old Luciano Carmona-Garcia from Hayward was killed on Wednesday, October 25th, after a tragic hit-and-run accident on International Boulevard in Oakland, California. Mercury News reports that the accident took place at around 10:26 p.m. in the 4200 block of International.
Carmona-Garcia was walking between two parked cars when a third vehicle crashed into the parked cars, pinning Garcia and causing severe damage to his legs. According to the Oakland Police Department the instigating vehicle was a stolen Kia Sorento SUV that was travelling east at high-speed. It collided with a Pontiac Vibe on the road and lost control also colliding the parked cars on the side of the road. These are what pinned Garcia. The driver of the Kia SUV got out of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Luciano Carmona-Garcia sadly succumbed to his leg injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Pontiac also suffered minor injuries and was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident that killed Luciano Carmona-Garcia, and are looking for any information about the whereabouts of the driver involved.
